It was two days of seasonal fun dashed with a little history at the Museum of Ontario Archaeology last weekend (Feb. 18-19).
The occasion was the third annual Snowsnake and Winter Festival, part of the ongoing programming at the museum. And while a traditional winter has been a little scarce this year, there was no shortage of traditional winter activities to partake in.
In the village, participants had the chance play games, go snowshoeing or try their hand at snowsnake throwing. Across the way in Attawandaron Park, there was dog sledding and demonstrations being put on Jason Quinlan and his family.
For those that preferred their winter pursuits warm and cosy indoors, there was craft activities for the kids, self-guided tours of the museum and exhibits as well as the chance to grab a bite in the Three Sister’s Soup Café.
