The weatherman may have forced the action indoors, but for residents of St. Joseph’s Parkwood Hospital on Friday (Sept 14), it was still their chance to crank up the volume, thanks to the band RBC/DC.
The band made up of Adam Baine, Bruce Fairles, David Kirwin, Ed Kazuba, Johnny Traut and guests Adam Plante and Scott Szeryk, played works from a range of artists from Johnny Cash to Creedance Clear Water Revival and Jimi Hendrix.
“Many of our patients are unable to attend concerts like Rock the Park because of their complex medical needs,” said therapeutic recreation specialist Judy Beitz in a media release detailing the event earlier in the week. Music therapist Jill Kennedy-Tufts added on that same release, “We’re thrilled RBC/DC is donating their time and talent to bring this concert to our young, and young at heart patients.”
