TMG delivered smiles to Breakfast Club students

Our London

On May 29, a group of 10 teams from The Mortgage Group (TMG) visited Breakfast Club of Canada schools to help serve up nutritious breakfasts to students before they headed off to class.

The London TMG Team reported to the kitchen at Sir John A. MacDonald Public School, as well as hand-delivered Smile Bags full of goodies to each participating student.

TMG National Breakfast Club Day volunteers from Victoria to PEI have been preparing for months, each matched with a participating Breakfast Club of Canada school. A non-profit organization that provides funding, equipment, food, training and support to breakfast programs across the country, Breakfast Club of Canada is dedicated to making sure every child starts their day with a nutritious meal in a nourishing environment, helping them thrive at school, at home and in their community

“We’ve been very moved by Breakfast Club of Canada and their commitment to making sure 130,000 kids get a healthy breakfast every day,” said Mark Kerzner, president of TMG. “Which is why we’re proud to be a national partner and really excited about this May 29 event. Especially to have the opportunity for members of our Team to visit local schools, show their support and have fun with the kids.”

A generous partner of Breakfast Club of Canada, TMG has been fundraising internally since last November, encouraging their national team of 700 plus mortgage brokers to donate a portion of their commissions to the club. Their original goal of $25,000 was quickly doubled to $50,000, a target they’re gaining on with over $35,000 raised to date.

“As a new partner, The Mortgage Group has proven to be a wonderful supporter of the club and we are very excited to launch this national partnership from coast-to-coast.” Said Daniel Germain, president and founder of Breakfast Club of Canada.
