Feet do the talking at Walk Now for Autism Speaks Canada

Our London

The usual summer Sunday morning calm of the Western University Community Centre (UCC) was replaced with a carnival-like atmosphere as close to 400 people gathered on the concrete beach to take part in the fourth annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks Canada.

One of nine scheduled walks in support of Autism Speaks Canada for 2014, the event was more than just a three-kilometre fundraising walk around the Western campus, it was a chance for members of the local autism community to come together for a fun-filled, family friendly event.

In 2013, the event was held in Victoria Park and raised close to $40,000 — a number that organizers hope to match again this year. All money raised through the walk goes to Autism Speaks Canada to help support family services, to fund research and help raise public awareness around autism.
