Up until Oct. 31, the Boys and Girls Club of London is accepting donations of new and gently used winter coats, jackets, snow pants, hats, mitts, scarves and boots which will be handed out to youth in need at the Boys and Girls Club of London on Nov. 1-2.
With the long, cold winter London experienced last year, Boys and Girls Club of London representative Emile Rumble expects they will need to exceed the total of 1,300 coats handed out in 2013. "We are trying to make sure we have as many donations as possible so that we can outfit as many children and youth as we can so they stay warm for the winter,” said Rumble.
Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so at the Boys and Girls Club’s Horton Street headquarters or alternately, at one of a variety of drop-off locations scattered across the city. The list of these locations and more information about the program can be found on the organization's website, www.bgclondon.ca.
