Sarah Lock, like many Canadians, has seen and continues to see the affects arthritis can have on a loved one. In her case it’s her dad who has battled the disease since the age of 17.
In honour of her dad, Lock participated in The Arthritis Society’s Joints in Motion Training Team. This is an annual program that the society runs whereby people participate in a walk, trek, cycle or marathon in a destination somewhere around the world to raise awareness and funds for the cause.
For Lock this adventure took her to Dublin, Ireland in September to participate in a half marathon.
She will be sharing information about her Joints in Motion experience at an information session on Monday, (Nov. 28) from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at The Arthritis Society office (400 York St., Suite 204).
Please RSVP Dan Knight at 519-433-2191, ext. 1226 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about the program and the current destinations.
Current destinations in the Joints in Motion Training Team include a trek in Iceland; a 10-km, half or full marathon in Lausanne, Switzerland; a half or full Marathon in Nassau, Bahamas; and a full marathon in Rome, Italy.
