Barenaked Ladies, Chantal Kreviazuk kick off Smokin’ Red Hot season

Our London

Orchestra London has announced its 2012-13 Red Hot Weekends series lineup, led by the Grammy-nominated Barenaked Ladies and Juno-winning Chantal Kreviazuk. “Our musicians couldn’t be more excited to perform with The Barenaked Ladies, Chantal Kreviazuk, and more great artists during our 2012-13 season,” said Alain Trudel, music director. “It is going to be a fantastic season.” The Red Hot Weekends series presents legendary rock classics and pop hits with world-class artists and full symphony orchestra. Also on the bill is Grammy-nominated funk/rock artist Alex Cuba, and Juno-nominee Jim Witter, whose band alongside Orchestra London brings to life the music of Simon and Garfunkel, Elton John and Billy Joel, and the Beatles. “Jim Witter is an international showman who will continue in the tradition of classic Red Hot Weekends performances,” says Joe Swan, executive director. “The opportunity to bring new and such well known stars to London audiences will build on Orchestra London’s reputation for exciting and innovative programming. These concerts will definitely become London’s Hottest Ticket.” Subscriptions for the seven-concert series (with performances on Friday and Saturday) are on sale now for $231-$378 (includes HST). Limited single tickets for the Red Hot Weekends series go on sale March 1. The Orchestra’s complete 2012-13 season will be announced in February.  Call 519-679-8778 or visit www.orchestralondon.ca for more information. 2012-13 Red Hot Weekends Series Barenaked Ladies — Oct. 12-13 Multi-platinum album sales, Grammy nominees, multiple Juno winners . . . need we say more?
