City will enforce mandatory outdoor water ban

Our London

The city’s bylaw enforcement staff will work through the weekend to ensure London residents are obeying the mandatory ban on outdoor water use. Enforcement staff will first speak to homeowners who ignore the ban but staff also have the authority to issue a $95 inspection fee. Residents with questions about the ban or who notice people using water outdoors, can call 519 661-4570 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The mandatory ban on outdoor water use was put in place Friday morning (May 25) after reservoir levels were still at critical levels following a water transmission pipeline rupture earlier this week. It could take 48 hours to fill reservoirs depending on consumption. Water in the reservoirs is required for fire protection. Under the city water bylaw, all water customers must stop using water outdoors and are encouraged to conserve indoors as well. Find us on Facebook: London Community News
