Whale Wars star to appear by Skype at Western Saturday

Our London

A planned appearance by Whale Wars star and Sea Shepherd Conservation Society founder Paul Watson at London’s A.B. Lucas Secondary School on Friday (June 15) has been postponed. He is scheduled to appear by Skype, however, at a benefit event at Western University’s Grad Club on Saturday (June 16). Watson was arrested in Germany last month and is waiting to learn if he will be extradited to Costa Rica where he is accused of putting another ship’s crew in danger in relation to a 2002 confrontation with alleged shark fin poachers. His nephew, Shawn Watson, confirmed Friday that Paul is still in Germany. A representative of A.B. Lucas Secondary School said Paul has rain-checked his appearance there until the fall. The Western University event takes place from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Grad Club in the Middlesex Building and only door tickets are left. For further details, visit facebook.com/sscsToronto
