Two London men stole a “large quantity” of alcohol from the Port Stanley LCBO Sunday (Oct. 6) but they didn't get far, according to police.
The men entered the LCBO at 1:47 p.m., filled two shopping baskets with alcohol and left without paying.
Armed with a description of the suspects and their vehicle from a store employee, officers pulled them over on Sunset Road at Fruit Ridge Line in Central Elgin a short time later and seized about $1,300 worth of lifted libations.
As a result, Darcy Ronald Woodruff, 27 and Adam Wade Alexander, 29, both of London, are each charged with one count each of theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
Woodruff is also charged with impersonation and Alexander is also charged with one count each of failing to comply with a probation order and driving while disqualified.
None of the charges have been proven in court.
