A London Muslim group plans to explore honour killings, genital mutilation and forced marriage in the Islamic world Thursday (May 29).
Following a screening of the documentary “Honor Diaries” in which she is featured, internationally renowned Muslim speaker Raheel Raza will join columnist and Western University professor Salim Mansur and television host Christine Williams in a panel discussion moderated by radio talk host Andrew Lawton.
The evening at Wolf Performance Hall starts at 6:30 p.m.
Mansur, vice-president of the Council for Muslims Facing Tomorrow and Freedom Party candidate for London North Centre said in a release she would be addressing the cultural and political problems of this issue on the post-screening panel.
She said the timing of the screening is a coincidence.
“This coincidence highlights Freedom Party’s concern with securing and advancing political freedom, including the epochal struggle of Muslims across the world of Islam who are engaged in a struggle for freedom and individual rights.”
Admission is $10.
