This story will have a happy ending, but the journey to get there hasn’t been an easy one for Samarah, a cat that won’t stay down.
Samarah was recently taken in by the London Humane Society with a front leg that needed to be amputated after its owner had failed to properly take care of a previous injury that was treatable.
Samarah had fallen off its owner’s balcony fracturing the leg in the process.
“After receiving veterinary care, the cat’s leg was splinted and bandaged with instructions to return to the vet two weeks later to have the appendices changed,” said the Humane Society in a release Monday. “The cat’s owner failed to do so, waiting nearly two months to have the cat seen by a veterinarian again. Upon examination, it was discovered that her leg and skin were dying and the only option was amputation.”
The owner wasn’t able to afford the amputation surgery, so Samarah was taken into the care of the Humane Society.
Now comes the happy ending to Samarah’s not-so-happy story.
Foster is hoping someone will give the cat a happy – and forever – home. With pets come expenses, but few presents of any kind this season would mean more than this feline in need now of only a safe and happy place to live.
