A London man is facing charges of animal cruelty after London Humane Society investigations officers were alerted to suspicious circumstances surrounding a cat with life-threatening injuries.
Jeffrey Hillier, 22, was served with four charges under animal cruelty legislation, including causing distress, permitting distress, failing to provide necessary care and failing to comply with an Ontario S.P.C.A. act order.
The cat was removed by a Humane Society officer and immediately seen by a veterinarian. Due to the severity of injuries the cat sustained, it was recommended by the veterinarian that the cat be humanely euthanized.
Hillier will appear in court in January 2016 to face the charges.
