Police searching for suspect in attempted pharmacy robbery

Police are searching for a suspect in connection with an attempted pharmacy robbery early in the New Year.

The incident occurred on Jan. 3 when at approximately 3:20 p.m., a man approached the pharmacist at a Shoppers Drug Mart on Springbank Drive and demanded medication.

After the pharmacist refused, the man then fled the scene on foot after threatening violence, though no weapon was seen.

Officers were called, but were unable to locate the would-be robber.

The suspect is described as white, around 6-foot, with a slim build, and around 30 years old. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a Western University Football logo on the front, blue jeans, dark sunglasses, and a black baseball cap with white writing.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
