You’re treating yourself to a manicure, well that used to be a simple cut, file and polish, but now you have to decide between acrylic and gel…or what is this new type of service that everyone is talking about… Shellac?

Shellac is a type of gel nail lacquer that can be applied on your natural nails or gel nail extensions.

It goes on similar to nail polish in that it's applied as a base, two coats of color and then a top coat, but differs in that it is cured under a UV light after the application of each layer. The great thing about shellac nails is that they offer a chip-resistance, high-shine, long lasting look.

You can’t change the colour of the product whenever you want at home but you can remove it yourself as it dissolves in acetone. It’s not available for purchase by the general public because it requires a UV curing lamp to dry.

A great place to go if you’re looking for nail services in London is Fusion Nails and Spa! They are located at 1925 Dundas St. next to Winners in Argyle so visit them before or after your day of shopping!
