Tourism London announced today a partnership with the John Labatt Centre (JLC) to host the 2011 Synchro in the City - London Synchrofest International, presented by Freedom 55 Financial.
“This is a ground breaking, shoulder season event that we hope will stimulate the local economy and profile more fully the athletic skill and artistry of synchronized skating,” said John Winston, general manager of Tourism London. “This is an exciting, creative initiative and we are pleased to offer this family event to our community over the holiday season.”
The world’s top synchronized skating teams will compete for $50,000 in prize money with the event being held at the JLC on Dec. 27-29. Tickets go on sale to the public on next Friday (Oct. 21) at noon and cost $45 (all-event pass) or $25 (single-event pass).
Tickets will be available at the John Labatt Centre Box Office, Masonville Place Ticket Outlet, Fanshawe College BizBooth, the Bookstore at Western and Books Plus. Tickets can also be charged by phone at 866-455-2849 or ordered online at www.johnlabattcentre.com.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with London Tourism and Freedom 55 Financial to host the 2011 Synchro in the City - London Synchrofest International this December. This event is attracting world ranked teams from Europe, Asia and North America, all coming to London to compete for top prize money," said William Thompson, Skate Canada CEO.
