London celebrates Canada Day

Our London

On Tuesday (July 1), people across the land congregated in groups as small as two or three to gatherings in the thousands to mark the occasion of Canada’s 147th birthday.

And whether it was at East Lions Park in Argyle, the South London Community Centre in White Oaks or the Optimists Park in Byron, there was no shortage of ways to be part of those celebrations in the Forest City.

Likely the largest of all the Canada Day celebrations in the city could be found downtown in Harris Park where thousands made their way to through out the afternoon and evening to join in the London Celebrates Canada festivities.

Kicking off at noon with a First Nations Gathering followed by a citizenship ceremony, various exhibits, vendors and performers kept people entertained until fireworks filled the sky over the Forks of the Thames to wrap things up with a bang.
