On Feb. 21, the London Chapter of the Chinese-Canadian National Council will once again take over the London Convention Centre (LCC) and play host to the 2015 Dragon Gala.
As many as 1,000 guests are expected to attend the event which continues to grow in stature each year. Celebrating the Year of the Ram, the 2015 gala kicks off with a reception followed by a five-course meal and then an evening of live entertainment featuring various dance and musical performances.
The chair of this year’s Dragon Gala is Henry Poon.
Speaking at the official launch for the gala at the LCC on Wednesday, Poon announced that world renowned artists Sharon Wei – violist and assistant professor of viola at Western University, and Solomiya Ivakhiv – violinist and assistant professor of violin/viola and Head of Strings at University of Connecticut would be performing at the event. Extolling their various musical accomplishments, Poon added. “It is going to be a thrill for us to have them here.”
Money raised from the 2015 Dragon Gala will go toward supporting the community services and programming offered through the CCNC London Chapter.
